Frontend ZG #11 is joining forces with Javascript Zagreb Meetup and Reactor Studio

This time we are talking about Remix and Astro.

We are very excited to announce that we have great speakers ready to share their knowledge with the community.

👨 Talk 1: Matija Marohnić - Introduction to Remix, a full stack React framework (20 - 25 minutes)

Remix is a full stack React framework, people often compare it to Next.js, but it has a different goal. One of the key differences is that Remix recognizes that deployment services have advanced enough to be able to fully embrace web standards, edge computing and full stack development. The team is geared toward teaching you better web development rather than Remix development, so the skills you learn will be applicable outside of Remix as well. They support various deployment services out of the box, so you get to keep the same application code, and changing deployment targets is mostly a matter of changing one configuration value. One of their milestones is for Remix to eventually support UI libraries other than React, like Vue, Svelte etc.

👨 Talk 2: Luka Batarelo - Astro - What? Why? How? (20 - 25 minutes)

I will introduce you to Astro, the hot new stuff in the web development world.

The goal of this presentation is to help the community get the latest news and info about Astro and share knowledge.

Some topics that will be covered:

What is it?
Why should we use it? Should we actually use it?
Who will have benefits from it?
How can we use it? What can we plug in?
Statistics and metrics
